The 2025 Indigenous Literacy Day book is Grinch det K’Taun Krok!, written and illustrated by students from Katherine High School in the Northern Territory and ILF Ambassador David Lawrence.
This Indigenous Literacy Day, the student authors will be travelling all the way to Tubowgule where the Sydney Opera House sits, to celebrate their book at the Indigenous Literacy Day Livestreamed Event. Make sure you get your copy before Indigenous Literacy Day to join in on the fun!
The story is bilingual, written in Kriol and English.

Where’s My Minya Marlu?
ILD 2025 features Where’s my Minya Marlu? written and illustrated by Wirangu woman, Mia Speed. Mia Speed is from Port Lincoln in South Australia and has family ties to Ceduna and Koonibba. In the 2025 ILD Film you will join Mia to learn about what storytelling means to her.
Marlu (kangaroo) is looking for her minya marlu (little kangaroo/joey). Will garliya (emu), wardu (wombat), dyilga-marda (echidna) or any of the other animals be able to help her?

ILD 2025 celebrates the Moli series - Moli det bigibigi and Moli bin git stak written by Karen Manbulloo.
Moli det bigibigi is a bilingual story in Kriol and English about a little piggy who is rescued from the bush.

Moli bin git stak (Molly gets stuck)
Moli bin git stak follows the adventures of a now grown-up Moli the pig. Looking for shade on a hot day in Kalano, Moli takes shelter under a local van, but ends up getting stuck! Will she manage to get free?
