The Yakanarra Dogs was written and illustrated by the junior students of Yakanarra Community School, under the guidance of Alison Lester and Jane Godwin. It has been translated into Walmajarri, with the help of school teachers and local elders Mary Vanbee and Jessie Moora.

The Yakanarra Dogs reflects the beautiful small community located in the foothills of the St George Ranges between the Fitzroy River and the Great Sandy Desert, in Central Kimberley, Western Australia.

Age guide: 7 - 10 years old.
